As I mentioned in the Kurt Vile post from yesterday, Kurt was formally a member of today's AWESOME band of discussion - The War on Drugs. Go ahead and click the link to listen to "Under The Pressure" while you read on.... also I am pretty sure "Eyes to the Wind" is one of my favorite songs of ALL time.
These guys are so incredibly talented I am shocked they are not more popular than their current pseudo under the radar status. Hailing from Philadelphia, The War on Drugs boasts a unique sound that blends elements of Indie, Classic Rock, Jam Band, Bob Dylan, and countless other influences.
The War on Drugs was formed in 2005, after frontman Adam Granduciel moved from Oakland, California to Philadelphia, where he met Kurt Vile, who had also recently moved back to Philadelphia after living in Boston for two years. The duo subsequently began writing, recording and performing music together. Vile stated, "Adam was the first dude I met when I moved back to Philadelphia in 2003. We saw eye-to-eye on a lot of things. I was obsessed with Bob Dylan at the time, and we totally geeked-out on that. We started playing together in the early days and he would be in my band, The Violators. Then, eventually I played in The War On Drugs." [Wikipedia]
Long story short, The War on Drugs, kick ass. In my opinion Lost in the Dream was the album of the year in 2015. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Kurt Vile is 'Pretty Pimpin' + tour tix on sale NOW!!!!
2nd only to the Fresh Prince, Kurt Vile is the Pride of Philly and the master of delivering catchy Indie tunes... and LOTS of them... he has released albums in 2008, 2009 (two actually) 2011, 2013, 2015.
Needless to say I am a fan of his work and am pumped to go see him this Spring in Dallas. If you're not familiar with Kurt Vile - check out this track Pretty Pimpin and Go see him on tour with his supporting band the Violators.
Random fact: Kurt's nickname is El Cabrito Matador. Why? No clue. Also worth noting that Kurt was formally a member of the War on Drugs and is great friends with Adam Granduciel.. Post coming soon about The War on Drugs.

// THE 1975 // ARE BACK //
Hailing from Manchester, UK, The 1975 can be described as a dark and youthful band mixed with elements of sex, love, fear and Alt-rock Their newest single UGH is a bitter different from their previous body of work but still carries the same undertones as the full length self titled release dating back to September 2013. I am a really big fan of this track because the lyrics, melody and video are all fascinating.
The 1975's 1st album hit #1 on UK charts and #28 in the US, thereby erasing any doubts of the band's legitimacy. This deep cut, Robbers, is my favorite from their debut release. Give them a listen and lookout for their 2nd album titled "I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It" that is set to be released on the 26th February 2016. Get it using the link below!

Teenage Tide
Letting Up Despite Great Faults is not a new band but somehow I have only just now discovered them... The band formed in L.A. back in 2006 and got to Austin as fast as they could. They released their 1st (self titled) album in October 2009. Letting Up Despite Great Faults band is best described as dreamy Indie & I instantly feel in love with their sound. I think you will too, click here to give "Teenage Tide" a listen and see why they were a breakout at the SXSW Festival.
